MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical treatment that involves the injection of a customized blend of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid into the mesoderm, the layer of skin just beneath the surface. This treatment is designed to rejuvenate the skin, reduce fine lines, and address issues like dull complexion, dehydration, and uneven texture. Mesotherapy is highly effective for facial rejuvenation, hair restoration, and body contouring. The procedure stimulates collagen production, improves skin elasticity, and enhances hydration, leaving your skin looking youthful and radiant. With minimal downtime and natural-looking results, mesotherapy is a popular choice for those seeking non-invasive skin and hair treatments.
CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR THE PROCEDURE
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Mesotherapy is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the lack of sufficient research on its safety for both the mother and baby.
Active Skin Infections or Inflammation: If you have any active skin conditions, such as infections, rashes, or open wounds in the area to be treated, mesotherapy should be avoided until the condition resolves.
Allergies to Ingredients: Individuals who are allergic to any of the substances commonly used in mesotherapy (e.g., hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids) should avoid the procedure.
Blood Clotting Disorders: Those with bleeding disorders or who are on blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, warfarin) should refrain from mesotherapy due to an increased risk of bruising or bleeding.
Autoimmune Diseases: People with autoimmune disorders, such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, may not be suitable candidates for mesotherapy, as these conditions can interfere with the body’s healing process.
Severe Heart or Kidney Conditions: Mesotherapy is generally contraindicated for individuals with severe heart or kidney diseases, as the body’s ability to process the injected substances may be compromised.
Cancer: Individuals undergoing treatment for cancer, or those who are in remission, should avoid mesotherapy, especially in the treated areas, unless cleared by a physician.
Recent Cosmetic Procedures: If you’ve recently undergone other cosmetic treatments like Botox, dermal fillers, or laser therapies, it may be necessary to wait a specific amount of time before undergoing mesotherapy.
Inadequate Skin Health: If your skin is overly sensitive or damaged (e.g., sunburned or with severe scarring), it is not ideal for mesotherapy.
POST-TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
Avoid Touching the Treated Area: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or scratching the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent infection and allow the skin to heal properly.
Avoid Heat and Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, saunas, and hot showers for at least 48-72 hours after the procedure to prevent irritation or swelling.
Skip Intense Physical Activity: For the first 24-48 hours after mesotherapy, avoid vigorous exercise or activities that can increase blood flow and cause additional swelling or bruising.
Do Not Apply Makeup: It is best to avoid applying makeup to the treated area for the first 24 hours to minimize the risk of infection and irritation.
Cold Compress for Swelling or Bruising: If you experience swelling or bruising, apply a cold compress to the treated area for 10-15 minutes at a time, several times a day, to help reduce discomfort.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water after mesotherapy helps support the body’s natural healing process and keeps your skin hydrated.
Avoid Alcohol and Smoking: Refrain from alcohol and smoking for at least 48 hours after the procedure as they can interfere with the healing process and may cause swelling or bruising.
Gentle Skincare: Use gentle, non-irritating skincare products for the first few days after treatment. Avoid exfoliating or using harsh chemicals on the treated skin.
Monitor for Side Effects: It is normal to experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising in the treated area, but if you notice unusual or persistent symptoms (such as severe pain, infection, or prolonged swelling), contact your practitioner.
Follow-up Appointments: Attend any recommended follow-up appointments to monitor progress and ensure that the treatment has been effective.
