LIP FILLER
Before the procedure begins, the first step involves completing the necessary consent forms and collecting detailed information about the client’s health condition. This ensures safety and suitability for the treatment. The next stage is the application of a numbing cream, which is left on for approximately 10 to 25 minutes. Following this, an individual consultation is conducted to assess the client’s readiness, rule out any contraindications, and discuss expectations as well as the realistic outcomes of the procedure.
Once the preparation is complete, the treatment itself begins with thorough disinfection of the target area. The gel-based product is then applied using a specialized ampoule-syringe and a precise technique tailored to the treatment area. The results are visible immediately after the procedure, although mild swelling may occur. For this reason, the final outcome becomes fully noticeable after about four weeks.
The effects typically last between 6 and 12 months, although in the case of a first-time treatment, the duration may be shorter—sometimes around three months.
Longevity of the results depends on various factors such as lifestyle, skin type, smoking habits, hydration levels, and exposure to UV radiation, all of which can influence how quickly hyaluronic acid is metabolized by the body.
Contraindications for Lip Filler Treatment
Pregnancy and breastfeeding – Due to a lack of research on the effects of fillers in these cases, treatment is not recommended.
Active skin infections or inflammations – This includes cold sores (herpes simplex), acne, or any other infections in or around the lips.
Allergy to filler ingredients – Individuals with known allergies to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine (a common anesthetic used in fillers) should avoid the treatment.
Autoimmune diseases – Conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis can affect healing and increase the risk of complications.
Blood clotting disorders – Or the use of blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, warfarin) which may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding.
Ongoing skin treatments – Such as chemical peels, laser therapy, or dermabrasion in the treatment area, which should be completed and healed before considering fillers.
Recent dental procedures – It is recommended to wait at least 2 weeks after dental work to avoid disrupting the filler or causing infection.
Unrealistic expectations or body dysmorphia – Clints should have a healthy mindset and understand the realistic outcomes of the procedure.
POST-TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
Avoid touching the treated area unnecessarily for the first few days to prevent infection.
Keep the brows dry for at least 7–10 days. Avoid water, steam, sweat, and heavy workouts.
Do not pick or scratch any scabs or flaking skin—let them fall off naturally to avoid pigment loss or scarring.
Apply a healing ointment (if advised by your technician) in a thin layer to keep the area moisturized, usually once or twice daily.
Avoid makeup and skincare products on or around the brows during the healing period.
Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds for at least 4 weeks. Use SPF once healing is complete to protect the pigment.
Avoid saunas, pools, and long hot showers for 10–14 days to reduce the risk of fading and irritation.
No facial treatments or exfoliants near the brow area for at least 4 weeks.
A touch-up session is usually recommended 6–8 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect the shape and color.
